Company History

Jim Wilcox founded IHS Technologies nearly 20 years ago with the idea of filling the gap for small businesses who needed IT work but didn't need full time IT staff. As more and more businesses came to depend on PCs for daily operations, IHS grew into a multi-faceted company, with four technicians and a customer base covering all of Middle Georgia. As a small business helping other small businesses, we at IHS Technologies strive to provide cost-effective, accurate support for our customers. Our philosophy is one of providing good service at fair prices, and we welcome the opportunity to help you grow your business by putting technology to work for you.

Jim Wilcox

Jim has been programming since 1988 when he graduated from Georgia College and State University. He has programmed everything from IBM Mainframes to micro devices. He has worked extensively with Microsoft based servers and workstations from a networking and a programming perspective. His experience with both hardware and software gives him a unique ability to develop solutions that consider all facets of the customer’s needs.

Boyd Elrod

Passionate about "all things tech" and fortunate enough to turn a hobby into a career, Boyd has been working with PCs since getting his first Kaypro PC in 1987. Boyd started out providing PC service for friends and family, then started a part-time computer service business in the mid 90s. Boyd joined the ranks of IHS in 2006 and brings over 10 years of professional technical experience to our customers.

Jeff Hobaugh

Jeff began his career in automation as a Mark IV programmer in 1977 while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. During the final year of his military career, he served as the Information Technology Customer Service Center Manager for the Georgia Army National Guard in Atlanta, GA. Upon retirement, Jeff further honed his skills working with a small, GSA contractor specializing in Information Security, providing service ranging from HIPAA certification to network audits and vulnerability testing. Jeff is a Microsoft Certified Professional.

Bryan Meeks

A recent graduate of Mercer University’s School of Engineering, Bryan brings extensive drafting and CAD experience to the IHS team. He also excels at graphic design and web development, and has a knack for translating ideas into functional, practical web sites. With professional experience in web design and development, Bryan can help your business attract customers with the power of advertising on the web.
